De-ionised Water, also known as pure water, is water that has had the ions removed. Normally, tap water is full of ions and minerals such as calcium and magnesium, which makes it impractical for certain uses. Hence causing limescale and corrosion in households such as bathrooms, kitchens, kettles, irons, water pipes etc. In order for normal water to become deionised, it has to go through an ion exchange process.
